No Valid IP Config

Error message : wireless network connection doesn't have a valid IP config. I have reset everything I can think of. Will connect but limited acess, ie. no internet. also same problem when connected to my cell phone wireless hot spot. Anyone?

Check your IP settings. Right click on the network icon in the toolbar. Go to the network and sharing center. Click on the connections button over on the right side. Click properties. From the list, select Internet Protocol v4. Click properties. Make sure your computer is set to get an IP address automatically.

Open a command prompt (cmd)
type "ipconfig /release" (no quotes)
type "ipconfig /renew"

If it connects to networks, but not the internet, the problem seems to be isolated to your computer. I think that mainly because you say its the same error when using either your home network or hotspot. Can you take a screenshot of the error so I can do some research?
