Should I buy a new GPU for BF4?

I currently have a MSI 7870 Twin Frozr III, with a AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.20Ghz Processor, and Battlefield 4 running on a Crucial M4 128GB SSD. I run BF4 at 50-60 FPS on low settings. I have the money to get a GTX 770, so, should I buy the 770 or would the CPU bottleneck it? And, would the 770 be ready to run the next Battlefield title?

Thanks in advance.

It's probably not worth the upgrade without getting a new CPU. You will probably have a bit of a bottleneck even if you overclock further and you will probably be better off waiting since the 7870 is still a great card for BF4.

You would get better performance with a stronger CPU and the 770, but the 770 will allow you to use high/ultra settings which is a big improvement. I say grab it and keep saving to upgrade your CPU and mobo when you get the money. You can always drop the 770 into your new system.

Overclock the CPU. That chip will hit at the very least 3.8Ghz on air cooling and will extend it's performance in games. It will handle BF4 but watch the temps after overclocking.

The 7870 can also be overclocked and will hold you over with near max settings in BF4.

If you want more than near max settings, upgrade your GPU.
