HP Pavilion vs. Dell Inspiron

Hi, I am a student at a university and need some assistance with regards to which laptop to purchase. What would you recommend?

Personally I would go with the dell...I have had far better luck with them.

Edit: Every HP machine I have ever owned has had massive overheating issues.

If you can get an Acer or Asus. Dell can be hit and miss, and HP's quality on a scale of 1 to 10 is -1. I have had 2 HP/Compaq laptops, both have literally melted while I was using them. The plastic on the bottom literally started to seep out the bottom. Don't get an HP... ever

Lenovo is also a great brand... this laptop is a bit more, but well worth it
