Hello! I am a support tech currently working on a customer's Acer Aspire One 725 - 0687. This one has me baffled. When powered on, the screen remains completely black; not lit, no post, no boot, no errors, just black. While looking into the issue, I discovered that it is not uncommon, and is related to a factory BIOS problem, the remedy of which is to flash the BIOS. There are many tutorials on how to do this using the built-in flash utility for this model. However, all of those tutorials assume the update from the Acer website includes a ".fd" BIOS file and a FlashIt.exe application. When I download the latest update from Acer, it comes with an executable application named ZHG212 and an SOP text file. Thus, I cannot perform the update as described. So how do I go about updating the BIOS with no screen? I sincerely appreciate your help with this, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you.
