I have an old HDD that has two drives on it. I would like it to have just one and use it as a storage drive. Is that possible? If so how?

Thanks
Kelly

All you need to do is format it.

Go into disk management and delete both partitions and the create a new partition of the whole drive and format it.

If you have data on one drive that you want to keep, there is partition software that will enlarge one partition using the space from the other partition. I use acronis disk director 11.

You can also use the disk management tool in windows to delete one partition then expand the one you want to keep. Just move any data from the partition you'll be deleting to the one you'll keep first. Although Mousemonkey is right, formatting it is likely the most ideal route.

Sorry if this sounds silly but "disk management tool"? Where would I find that? I'm in control panel and I can't find that.

What OS do you have? In windows 7, right click on "computer" and the left click on "manage." You should see disk management.

Thanks! I was trying to work on this from my XP desktop and it wasn't working, I completed it on our Win7 laptop and it worked wonderfully.
