Dexter Lawhun :
im trying to install windows 7 from a usb and i get to custom to select the drive and nothing is shown please help my rig is worthless without an os and if i use the disc it says cd/dvd drivers are missing
If you have access to another computer, you can remove the hard drive from the computer that you want to install Windows on, install that hard drive into your other computer, and install the proper drivers for the CD drive. I know that sounds like a lot, but the frustration that you must be going through isn't a walk in the park either. I want to rip my hair out by the roots when I find myself in a situation similar to yours! LOL
Installing it from the CD will be much more smooth of an operation, so I think iit would be worth it in the end to get that CD drive operational no matter what it takes.
UPDATE: I just thought of this as well. Should have thought about it first. DUH! on my part.
If you remove the hard drive on the rig that you want to install the OS on and install it on a second computer, you can just install Windows onto that disk from there. That would be much more simple.
