I was in Fry's the other day where I got a Gryphon Z87 motherboard. when I got it home and went to install everything I noticed that one of the pins for the CPU bracket was broken off. I called Asus support where they told me they did not cover physical damage on their products and said that I should call Fry's. Well I bought the 3 year warranty from Fry's for the motherboard and when I called them up was told the same thing by them that they would not cover it. Can anyone help me out here or set me in the right direction? This was a $170 motherboard and i'm not really wanting to buy a new one when i have had this for no more then 3 days now.

Go to the store and complain to the manager that you just bought it and it was already broken.

Their policy may not be fair but I doubt it will change for you or me. What exactly is a "pin for CPU bracket"?

Yeah, I would try a higher-up at Fry's. Better chance of getting help from them than from Asus. Be sure you have all the packaging, remind them of the recent purchase date, and clean any finger prints and stuff best you can.

I talked to the manager at Fry's and because I had bought an entire build from them they decided to replace it for me. But only under the condition that they build the system so they can replace anything that's broken and make sure nothing else goes wrong. =/ Not my first build, but eh, i'll let them have their fun.
