AMD 6970 vs. R9 270

Have a question on the AMD's 6970 VS. R9 270 what one would be the better card for gaming because I was was going to pair it with my other 6970 through hydra logix any help would be appreciated thanks and what is the difference between the 6970 and 6970 reference series thanks for any help

The 270 will run circles around it...

And 'reference' means it has the original stock cooler from AMD. Usually not as good as the aftermarket coolers.

thanks for your answer not what I was hoping ouch! but thanks, my only dilemma is I can get a deal on two 6970's lightly used for 300.00 which would let me run triple since I have the one already where I can only find the R9 270 used at 250.00 to 275.00 HWcompare.com shows them neck and neck and gpu boss had about the same but your link shows a entirely different scene thanks

Why would you buy a used R9 270 for $250? When you can get a brand new one for $179 Newegg has a Saphire for $154 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202090&cm_re=R9_270-_-14-202-090-_-Product

Don't fall for idiots buying new stuff then selling it for profit. And yes I bought one back in march. So no the prices were not higher. Mine is a HIS model $179, if they had the Saphire for $154 at that time I would have got it instead.
