Hello all,
When I rebooted my laptop today, the screen was completely black.
I could see some image when i used my Phone's torch on it closely, but the backlights were off.

I decided to dissemble the laptop (As I already did a while ago) and took out the screen, tested again after reconnecting everything and now the backlight works, but no image when using the torch...

My external screen works great, can play games or use heavy applications but it's a laptop... not a desktop :p

The model is Sony Vaio SVE1712Z1EB (i7-3632Q) = 8Gb RAM - Radeon HD 7650 with 240Gb SSD GeForce Red

Thanks all, in the meantime i'll try replug the screen's connector.

This might be late, but it was the connector to the screen who was less then a milimeter out of possition, placing it back into it's possition made the screen work again! thanks tho :D

After much searching, I found this thread. The cable connecting my screen was intact and taped in place but I said to hell with it, disconnected the cable, and reconnected. Then I looked at this thread again for the next suggestion. When I went back to the laptop it was working just fine.

Lenovo Edge 2-1580

It must've come just barely out of the port when I replaced the back / lid / bezel.
