Hi everyone,

I have built a budget PC to play some games that I like, and most of it I don't really care if it is in high or low setting. But there are two games, CS-GO and Dota 2 which I play often. and based on my search these two games did not really need high-end PC setup. However, I experience lagging/stuttering and lost of visual effect when playing them especially Dota 2. I have tried to change everything in the setting to get rid of them but did not work. so, I write this to get some help from you guys.

Here are my PC setup.
MoBo: Asrock FM2A88X Xtreme6+
APU: A10 5800k
GPU: Sapphire R7 250 Boost
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blue 4G x 2
SSD: Kingston V300 120G
HHD: Samsung spinpoint 500G
PSU: CM 475W Extreme 2
Internet connection: unlimited speed

Thanks in advance.

Dota 2 is more CPU intensive, and your CPU isn't too good. But since you're on an A88X Platform, you could upgrade to a Kaveri CPU. This would also allow you to run your CPU and GPU in hybrid crossfire to get a boost in performance over your R7 250 alone.

Can you recommend me any Kaveri you think better than this? :(

Hmm, I just bought the 5800k for $125 like 3 months ago. Spending another hundreds is not possible at the mean time. I will try updating all my drivers first and see if it still there. The only thing I wish to get rib of is the absence of visual from attack animation/spells used when playing Dota 2. It is hard to last hitting or dodge spells.. :(

I am using SSD for my windows, CS:GO and Dota 2. Other stuffs I installed them in other drive. BTW, will there be any improvement if I change the GPU to GTX650 (w/o Ti) instead of the APU?

They are both pretty level, the 250 and the 650 (non Ti Boost).

Something a little better would run the games in a better way, maybe like a 260X or 750 Ti. But most cards lower than that have issues because they aren't really made to game on as much as they are made to for example run an HTPC on.

Oh, okay. I thought gtx650 much more powerful. With a budget of only $150, and based on local IT store price, I can't only afford between Sapphire R7 260X OC, HD7790 OC and MSI GTX750 Twin Frozr Gaming. What do you think about this options?
