title says it all I have a cooler master real power pro 650psu but it only has 2x 6pin adapters for the card and wondered if I bought 2 6to8pin adapters if it would work good and be safe.

also off topic anyone rember if the 280x radeon card if its based on the new hawiia arcutecture or is that only the radeon 290's that have the newer arc-tech

More about : 6pin 8pin adapters safe radeon 280x

If a psu has the amps to deliver both a 6 and 8 pin output, it will have those leads.
If you need adapters on a psu that is relatively modern, I might have some doubts.
Your psu is only OK in quality and might do the job.
I see little harm in doing so.

If you are looking for a graphics card in the R9-280X performance tier, a GTX770 would perform similarly and use a bit less power.
Still a 6 and 8 pin though.

I think the card will come with 26to8pin adapters but I am trying to think about worse case scenario might also bump up the volts just a hair for overclocking
