Does it list the 16 gb ram when you go in the bios?

Tthe bios only indicates 4 gb.

What model # is the DRAM, can get the model # off the sticks themselves or look in CPU-Z in the SPD tab by Part Number, also do all 4 sticks show up in CPU-Z in the memory tab? We've had some buy a package of 4 sticks that shows 4GB on the package and think each stick is 4GB, when it's actually a 4x1GB set = 4 GB total

CPU-Z indicates that the Model # is F3-1490000CL9 and modual size of 4096 MBytes for slots 1 through 4. The Memory tab does indicate 16 Gbytes DDR3.

What is showing 4GB then? CPU-Z sees all 16GB, where does it say 4?

Windows 8 is only indicating a total of 4 GBytes installed where as CPU-Z indicates 16.

Might check in MSCONFIG and see if Win is limiting the DRAM........Look in MSCONFIG>BOOT>ADVANCED and make sure MAX MEM is UN_checked

Are They Running Quad Channel

Max Memory is Un_Checked under MSCONFIG.

Not quite sure if they Running Quad Channel. How can one check to ensure.
Could one possible explanation be that the BIOS was initially not saved and until done so, windows would only report that amount of ram initialized.

In CPU-Z the memory tab, there's a pane next to "Channels # " which will indicate if in Single, Dual, Tri or Quad
