Hello internet, I'm looking to build a fairly good gaming pc, with a grand total just under $500, excluding the monitor and os, which I already have. For the processor I chose an AMD FX-8320 at 3.5 ghz, 4.0 ghz turbo. For the graphics card, I chose a Sapphire 1 gb gddr5 radeon HD 7770. All of that will be paired up in a micro atx motherboard and case, 8gb of ram, 1tb of hdd, and a 450 watt power supply. Here are the full details of my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3gETt I'm going to be doing a moderate+ level of gaming, and hope this build can run games such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Battlefield 4, Minecraft and Rust at 60+ fps on at least medium settings. Another reason I chose the fx 8320 is because many new games seem to utilize 6+ cores, and I think that with the 8 cores it would run better. I know for sure that I will be doing at least some recording on Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Minecraft. I also think I'll be doing some light Photoshop and video editing on programs such as After Effects. I am planning to upgrade my graphics card maybe a year from building my pc. If anyone could rate, give feedback/constructive criticism, provide tips, suggestions, experiences, or any other helpful information on this build, that would be GREAT. Also, this is my first build, so if you could provide any tips or useful info about building a pc in general, that would also be gladly appreciated! Thank you all so much for your time! :D

Also, if anyone could tell me how this processor runs that would be great. I really want to know if I'll feel an upgrade difference from my current pc which has an intel i3 @ 1.9 ghz and intel hd 4000 graphics. Suprisingly, this laptop costs more than my build!

You won't notice a huge fps difference. Honestly, a FX-6300 with a 970 chipset motherboard would allow for better overclocking which will put the FX-6300 in front of the 8320.
The 7770 and 260X are the exact same cards. The 260X is just a rebranded 7770 with faster stock speed.

You really don't want that power hungry cpu with that motherboard, the voltage regulation isn't up to snuff. You probably also don't want a 125w cpu in that small case, it will cause a lot of heat build up, especially with the stock cooler.

It is better to run 2X4GB instead of 1X8 of ram because you can run it in dual channel and get a bit more speed.

The GPU I selected is superior to the one you selected and the 740 CPU should be sufficient to handle you needs

Thanks so much for looking into my build. I'll definitely take your advice on the going with 2x4 gb ratm. However do you recommend keeping the same cpu but maybe adding a different cpu cooler and an extra case fan or two?

I would not keep the motherboard you chose if you are going to go with that CPU. If you want to stick to that CPU, you should go with a better motherboard. If you want a better motherboard, you will probably have to go with a bigger case. I just don't think that an 8 core FX cpu makes sense in a microATX form factor

I disaggree.
atlon 740 will be garbage in like 1 year. 8350 u can keep for awhile.
I do agree with duo channel ram, its 15% faster
Dont get a 260x either, its basicly a overpriced 7790.
Maybe buy a used 7850. its about 120-150$ and is much better

-The FX-6300 is a bit weaker than the FX-8320, but it's stronger than the Athlon.
-970 chipset motherboard which will allow for decent overclocking. Add a cpu cooler like the CM Hyper 212 EVO and achieve ~4.5ghz.
-The 7770 is as strong as the 260x.

Wow haha you totally just read my mind on how to change my build! However, I still have a few questions regarding the parts. Will choosing the FX-6300 have a noticeable affect on my fps? How about the overall speed? Is it really a big difference from the FX-8320? Thanks. And how about the graphics card? Why do some people think the R7 260X is better than the hd 7770? Thanks!

[EDIT]: Lol I just realized you have the fx 6300, which i'm assuming you overclocked. How is the stock clock on it? Still deciding on whether or not to overclock.
