Hello and thanks for reading.

I received this laptop after we upgraded ours at work but need to replace the hard drive to keep it. What are the best options I have to get this to work? Is it as easy as buying a good 2.5" drive, plugging it in and installing the OS with the key on the cover? I could not find the install discs that originally came with the laptop. Thanks again!

Basically, yes, just buy a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive same height as existing one (2.5-inch drives are manufactured to various heights nowadays to cater for slim netbooks etc).

You can partition and format it using Windows Setup.
Make sure the version & edition you install is same as version/edition printed against the Product Key on the underside, otherwise key won't work.

You can then download the correct drivers from Dell's website when Windows is up and running, though you may have to use a different PC to get the network drivers if Windows doesn't include them.
