i bought a second hand cpu and added a graphics card, within my budget.
can i play games which were released upto year 2013.
specs of cpu are as:

Hp CMT E8600 3.2 ghz.
RAM = 2gb
GPU = 2 gb ATI radeon sapphire 5450
PSU = 365 watt
OS = win XP sp 3.

haven't tested or played any games on it,yet. But will i be able to play games on medium or high settings?

your cpu is ok, ram is low (get at least 4gb), but the biggest issue i seeis the graphics card. you say you added this? you should have asked here first, 5450 is far from a good performer.
only old games will run in high with this setup. or games that doesnt have much in terms of eye candy, sorry

2GB RAM is pretty low. Your system will likely use the swapfile a lot, causing tons of stuttering. A HD5450 is extremely low-end so you may have trouble playing current games even at the lowest details. The CPU is also marginal: my E8400 with HD5770 could only manage ~50fps in Diablo 3 which is a relatively low-spec game but the same GPU has no trouble doing a steady 60fps on my i5-3470.

You are not going to be able to do high frame rates or high resolution with your current system on current games.

ok.i can increase RAM to 4gb.

what would all of you suggest which gpu i should buy.
looks like i blew my money on this 5450.well since budget was low i could only buy this.

person who i bought this cpu with gpu from says, ( i called him just now), he played games like batman arkham asylm on high settings,far cry 2 on high settings,ruse on medium settings,black ops on high settings.MW 3 on high settings.

since you guys are The Experts here.do suggest which gpu i should buy now.i am going to frame this 5450 in my hall of blunders and mistakes of life.

If you are buying with the intent to stick to your C2D-E8600 for the foreseeable future, I would not bother going above HD7750 since your performance will be CPU-bound most of the time. If you plan to upgrade your CPU+MoBo+RAM in the not-so-distant future, then you might want to get a 750(Ti) or a R7-265 but for the R7, you would likely need a new PSU as well.
