TOSHIBA SATELLITE l775 was working fairly well (keyboard is kind of crazy - no ctrl keys, no SHIFT function, but the rest's ok. Upgraded all drivers about a month ago.. Last wk my display went black (but there is some light noted) Any exterior display works just fine - HDMI to TV or exterior monitor via video cable. Ran every diagnostic I could find & all say the display's fine. What could be wrong?

Could be the connection between the motherboard and display has been unseated somehow. Unfortunately the only way to check that would be to disassemble to the point where you can access that connector. Here's a teardown guide if you feel up to it: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-L775-L770-L775D-L770D/laptop-disassembly-1.htm

If you installed or changed anything right before the display went dead, you might also try a system restore to see if that helps at all.

Can you tell us what diagnostics you've run specifically?
