what can stop an internal dvd-rom from ejecting?

My dvd-rom suddenly stopped ejecting. It doesn't allow the PC to boot, and when it does, it's usually slow. You can't eject the dvd-rom. What do I do?

  1. unplug the sata and/or power connector maybe?
  2. Is there any disc inserted?
    Anyways, yes try replugging
  3. Locate the tiny hole in the front of the drive, usually near the eject button. Insert a straightened out paper clip aprrox 1/2" to 1" and press. It might eject.
