Hi,

I have a DLink DIR 505 wifi pocket router installed and i want to extend wifi signal range to cover my 3 acre farm house surrounding my room where device is installed. I did some research and find that there are wifi range extenders and wifi high gain antenna available which can do this. Now i have following queries -

1. Is my assumption regarding - "outdoor wifi antenna will enable my iPhone receive wifi signal at a distance of 500-600 meters from wifi router" - correct?

2. What are the hardware available in market which can connect to my dlink dir - 505 considering it has only 1 LAN port which is connected to WAN(modem). I am running openwrt on it so not sure if any repeater will work with it or not?

3. Can i somehow, pull out internal antenna and connect a wifi antenna cord directly into the router? (considering i know next to zero about all this)

4. If 2/3 is not possible then can i use my old cisco WRTGL router to connect antenna to router's LAN port?

I want my house wifi signal available at the last end of my house. Please suggest.
