PC Very Slow When Opening and Viewing Folders

This started a few days ago - whenever I want to get something from a folder in my PC it takes ages to see the files when it took half a second before.

For example, when I click on "My PC" until now the storage and disc drive folders would show up instantaneously, but now it takes almost half a minute. Also when I click on a folder it takes a while for it to all show up. Another example is when I click on "pictures" it takes 5 seconds for all the folders to show up (there aren't even that many) where it also used to show up instantaneously.

My PC is only 2 months old, not even that - the specs are:

Intel Core i5 3570
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Dual X
G Skill Ares (2x4GB) 8GB DDR3-1600mhz
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD (my OS is installed on it)
Seagate Baracudda 2TB 7200RPM HDD

My PC is as fast as ever for everything else I do, it's just this. It's annoying as I go through folders often to look for something.

I ran my own antivirus' (BitDefender as well as Windows Defender) and it came back clean. I defragmented both storage devices two times. I haven't run CCleaner yet.

My PC is back up to full speed at displaying and opening folders except for the "My PC" folder which still opens slowly. Any idea what I can do? Would CCleaner be of any benefit?

I'm back to the same issues. I have BitDefender antivirus which I've run through and it came back clean. I've tried changing tile-types in folders to no luck. My PC doesn't view My PC instantaneously, sometimes not at all. The folders show up but thumbnails take a while to show, when it used to also be instantaneous (and I want thumbnails). Also, opening folder properties takes MINUTES.

Anyone got any idea what I can do?
