My system is sitting on about 3 years old and Im looking to get maybe another year or so before a full rebuild.

CPU: i5 2500K
MB: ASRock Z68 Pro3 (No SLI support)
RAM: GSkill RipjawsX 8gb
GPU: GTX 550Ti
PSU: Antec HCG 520W
SSD: 64gb (OS only)
HDD: 1tb WD Cav. Black

The system still performs surprisingly well (the GTX550Ti is a little fighter). So the question is, do I go for a 750Ti ($199 ASUS/MSI-TF) and replace everything in a year or so.

Or I was thinking if I was to grab a GTX 760 ($329 ASUS/MSI-TF) and when I upgrade grab a second 760 and a MB that can SLI. Will the performance be worth the hassle? One concern is that I understand Im pushing my PSU as its recommended 500w on NVIDIA site.

BTW I play at 1920X1080

Your 2500K should do fine paired with most GPUs anyway so I don't see a need for a rebuild anytime soon

Go for the 760, or wait for the middle end Maxwell GPUs to come out

760 is the better card how ever you want to slice it. In the short term, 760 can run most games in ultra while 750ti will be running them in high detail settings. In the long term, it will take significantly longer for 760 to become obsolete and the lack of sli support for 750ti also hinders long-term value. I would definitely go 760 if you can afford to do so.

Cheers all. Going with the 760. Im thinking of going with the Gigabyte 760 2gb OC (GV-N760OC-2GD)
Can pick one up for $309 AUS. A bit cheaper then the offerings from MSI and ASUS
