G'day all im new to the site and having a bit of pc trouble.

I recently lashed out and decided to upgrade my rig and bought both brand new Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 Overclocked 2GB card also a Thermaltake Litepower 700W Black Edition PSU. Decided to hook them up and getting no signal message on my monitor.

I have reverted back to my old card (HD 5870) and boots windows fine.

Seems to be no beep for POST also. I have tried switching the cable from DVI to HDMI and switched card between my PCIE slots,Resetting CMOS battery, hit reset button on my mobo along with power on my mobo just cant seem to get this working.

One would assume as much that the PSU should push out enough power for the card..

My CPU is a FX8120 8 core with 8 gb of ram and a brand new Kingston 120gb SSD (also bought today and done a fresh install of windows)

Same issue happens with my old SATA drive as master and the new SSD as master.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

download speccy (if you have not already) and check to see if it detects something (your GPU) plugged into one of your PCI-E slots.

Did you uninstall your old drivers first? And does the new card get any power at all? (Do the fans spin up)

Would i have enough power output to run both cards?

I installed a fresh copy of windows with no video drivers installed on my new ssd and then tried the new card. Still nothing. Yes it gets power and the fans spin

Have you tried using a different cable/input? Can you try another PCIe slot?

Ok so a bit of a update. Put the new card in my mums rig and her pc boots fine. Decided to put her 7870 in my rig and same issue as with my new R9 270 (No Signal).

At least i know my new card is not toast.

Only thing i can think of is a BIOS flash. Would that fix my problem?

Tried both HDMI and DVI leads with the 7870 and R9 270, Also tried in all 3 PCIE slots. Still no signal

Really weird how i can only boot with the 5870

Turns out that flashing the BIOS with the latest version fixed the problem. I assume its a issue with this build. Thanks for the help anyways guys, Much appreciated!
