I am getting a new mid- range rig with the following specifications for budget gaming and normal use. My budget is around 35000 INR.

1. AMD FX 6300
2. Zotac Geforce GTX 750 TI
3. Corsair VS550 PSU
4. Corsair 8 GB Ram 4x2GB
5. Seagate Barracuda Int Hard Drive
6. Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Motheboard

I asked for these in a local shop and they told me that AMD processors last for 1-2 years.I want to know if that is true. If not how many years can a FX 6300 last? I want to use this rig for about 5 years. Also, is the motherboard okay? The people in the local shop told me that it wouldnt be a good choice and told me to choose a 880 chipset. Is it compatible?
I wouldn't be overclocking the system.

The AMD FX-6300 won't die or anything, it should run for more than 5 years. My Phenom II is 5 years old and still works perfectly (though it could be faster of course...).
However, the FX-6300 may go out of date in a few years. I assume that's what they meant.
As for the motherboard, that's one of the better mATX models you can get, it's even okay for overclocking if you don't push it too high.

I think the people in the shop were just trying to get you to buy more expensive stuff.
Your specs aren't great, but they are solid and reliable, and should perform well for the price.

I'm generally wary of Zotac video cards, often times people complain about the fans being noisy and easy to break if you put pressure on them. But I don't think it'll break if you don't try to jam it into the motherboard when you install it. And I might be wrong about the fan, as Zotac cards generally have good reviews.
