it comes with sata cables just make sure you get a sata drive and not ide (which most are now sata)

Yup, it comes with all the cables you should need (for connecting an optical drive/HDD). You can see them in one of the pictures on Newegg.com.

what do you mean by dvd cables? all you need is power, sata, and audio to hook to mboard which should come with the player
