Hi, guys!

Last year i created a thread to see if i could find a solution for my terrible fps while gaming.

At the time, i was using an AMD radeon 7970. Since my old motherboard was really crap, i thought it was bottlenecking my gpu.

So, three months ago, i spilled a bottle of beer on my computer. I had to get a new motherboard and a new gpu.

Even though i got a new gpu and motherboard, my computer is still suffering with terrible fps. Still, i dont know what is causing it. My bet is my processor but i hope you guys can help me out.

Like 90% of the times i turn on my computer, it makes a strange noise, like TEC TEC TEC TEC - it was already like that before the beer incident. My processor is an AMD Fx 8120 8core black edition.

Now, even twitch streams are flickering. Its driving me insane.

Ok here's what I think you should do.

1) Check if graphics card fan is spinning (visually confirm).

2) Check background processes and RAM usage

3) Check CPU and graphics card temperatures - Make sure fans are clean and spinning etc etc

4) Reinstall windows?

Your processor won't bottleneck your performance when simply watching Twitch chat. If it's making noises then perhaps check that everything is seated properly, fans are getting adequate airflow, the temperature isn't too high.

That's about as far as my knowledge would go with regards to this though.

Edit: Also check you have the latest drivers

Yes, the graphic card fan is spinning. I dont think my gpu is the problem cause the same thing was happening with my old one.

To add more info, when i run msi afterburner to check its usage, it wont go higher than 40%. Thats probably why i cant get enough performance out of it. And yes, the same thing used to happen with my radeon graphics card.

What about wiring? I put thermal paste on my CPU, reinstalled, and started the computer, it made a rapid tic tic sound, so I checked and it was the wire touching the CPU fan. I ziptied it, and it's steady now.
You might be having this problem if you have a lot of messy wiring.

However, if it's not a sharp but a soft and faint sound then that indicates toward some faulty connection somewhere. I had that kind of sound when I installed my new graphics card, but it was not seated properly. Fortunately it was not damaged. Reseated it and it works fine.

The loud sound only happens before the windows start up. Its kinda crazy.

Another thing that happens is that my pc sounds kinda like a formula 1 car. The sound it makes oscillates a lot. For example, when im watching a youtube video, it does quick freezes, and right after every freeze, my pc makes a louder sound, like if its trying to get more power. I wish i could explain it better.
