Hi guys! I finally decided to build my first machine from the ground up, and I have decided to build a small home server. The server will be used for file sharing, Plex streaming (and possibly some transcoding) and maybe for some virtualisation.

This is the component list so far:

Case: Bitfenix Prodigy
Motherboard: Asus H81I-PLUS Motherboard (Socket 1150, Intel H81, DDR3, S-ATA 600, Mini ITX, PCI Express 2.0, HDMI, USB 3.0)
CPU: Intel Pentium G3220 Dual Core
RAM: G-Skill 4GB Ripjaws X DDR3 1600 Dual Kit - Red
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 430 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze
Thermal paste: Arctic Cooling MX-4 4g

I already have a few hard drives, so for now I can use those. The OS is going to be some version of Linux at first.

So here are my questions:

1. Have I forgotten something?
2. How does the build look? Should I replace some components with others?
3. Are all components compatible?

Thanks!

Also, one thing I forgot to mention: the estimated wattage for this machine is less than 150W, are there any PSU's around that wattage that you would recommend or can I just go with the 430W one?

Alright good to know, the 430W one will do then :)

Any suggestions regarding the other questions?

It's currently running Ubuntu Server 12.04.

Was this a reply to this thread? :D

In the end I went for this exact configuration and I can confirm that everything is working well. The only thing I might change would be the RAM maybe, because the Pentium G3220 only supports 1333Mhz RAM, so the G-Skills are running underclocked. I didn't notice that at first. Oh well, not a big deal.
