I have started a startup repair on a dell Inspiron windows 7. It has been more than 35 hours and all I see is the blue bar moving and it says "repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour". I have tried to cancel it but it says "the current repair operation cannot be cancelled". Should I wait or press the power button and start again?

If it's been running that long it's a safe bet that the drive is toast. Backup your data (if possible) and replace that drive.

I've had it enough number of times. It usually takes about 6-7min
And if its running for way too long, then backup your data and reinstall the OS
