Hi all,
I'll finally ditch my old Core 2 Duo E8400, on Thursday, when I'll order a new CPU, and obviously a new mobo
But my question is, wich one of thesee 2 combos will be better for OCing:
a FX 8350 + Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0
b Fx 8320 + ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer
Thanks for taking your time :)

Solution
The 8350 is a better quality chip, and is more likely to overclock better, on top of being warrantied to run 500MHz faster. Both boards are good boards, and have sufficient power delivery. I would personally choose the 8350+ASUS board, because of the higher quality CPU and better customer service with ASUS.

Which is what I said. I explained, though, that the 8350 is binned higher, meaning it is a higher quality chip, and will generally overclock better and run cooler than an 8320 at the same speed. Why not do the same 20% overclock on the 8350 and get 4.8GHz?

Do you think I can go 4.8 with a 212 evo?
Thanks you both for the answers.

It all depends on the luck of the draw. If you get a good overclocker that doesn't need much if any voltage boost, 4.6-4.8 is probably doable with the 212. On average, though, I would say you probably have more of a shot at 4.5-4.6 with it. Wanting to go any higher, I would get a better cooler.
