My dog fell near my PC while playing, and bent the gold end part of my HDMI cord. I look around and find another. Hooray, problem solved. So I boot up windows, and after the loading screen, it just stops and my TV says "No Signal". I went into Safe Mode and did a system restore, and had the same problem. So, I went back into Safe Mode, and now it just shows a black screen with a cursor. At this point I am just done. So, I want to reinstall windows, but I can't even figure out how to do that. When I power my PC up, it loads the usual stuff, says it's loading the OS, all that, and I get to the screen where I can choose to go into safe mode, etc. But, I have the windows disc in. How can I reinstall windows? OR if you think you can help me find out what it is without reinstalling, that would also work.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
See if you can get the system working on a regular computer monitor via DVI and then try to get it running on the TV. I'm concerned the problem is the HDMI out or else is a detection issue, HDMI is much more flaky than DVI.

I'm afraid I don't have any monitor I could test this with, nor do I have DVI.
