I've been flip flopping between an AMD build and an Intel build in regards for a gaming PC. My budget is around 750USD and plan to use this primarily for gaming and other everyday use.

The two builds i'm contemplating are:

and
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheFoxer/saved/4b7B

I understand that RAM, an optical drive, and a storage HDD is missing; I am reusing those parts.
If you guys could give any advice to help sway me towards one build over the other, i'd be eternally grateful. Or if you have any advice on how to improve it, i'd be thankful for that too.

Thanks.

Toms JUST dis a very good budget i3 build up for ~$750

They also recommended the FX 6300 as a secondary option, but it would require ~$30 more for a good aftermarket cooler, for a total of $780.

As for people saying one or the other is better for gaming, you really need to consider what games you plan to play and how many cores they can use before you can make this statement. The statement "games don't use more than 3-4 cores" simply is not true anymore. Even the i3 in the Toms build I just referenced struggled with games using higher core counts. The only reason it was viable was due to Hyper Threading and certain games that benefit from that.

So check the games you want to play and find out how many cores they can use. That...

The 6300 is a stronger multi-threaded choice, I agree. However, in this build, games don't fully utilize multi core CPUs along with the fact that tomshardware writers also recently chose the 4130 over the 6300 in their 750$ build. I also don't believe that I have use for a 990fx chipset mainy since i don't plan on using more than one GPU along with the fact that a 990fx chipset costs more than a 970 chipset does. And i've had great experiences with this case on previous builds too.

It's entirely possible to grab a 3350p, however it would cut into my budget. Since the GPU is the most important part in regards to gaming, there won't really be a noticeable difference between the two except for in cost.

An overclocked FX 6300 in well threaded games will be noticeably faster than an i3, but not as fast as an i5.
