So i have been looking for a gaming headset for a little while and some one told me about the "Blue Yeti " but i have never used anything like it before so i have a few questions.

1) do you hook the headphones up through the mic so you can hear in game sound ? if not is there a way to hook it up through the mic so i can get voice feedback and in game sound ?

2) how is it for voice communication programs like mumble ect?

3) i plan on putting it on my desk is it going to pick up my typing ?

4) what is a good pair of headphones to go with it ? (would like a decent pair of headphones but nothing to expensive)

5) is the blue yeti+headphones Better/worth it or should i just go with a gaming headset ?

thanks to anyone that help much appreciated.

I don't have experience with the Blue Yeti so take my advice with a pinch of salt, but here's my opinion.

I read a review a while ago which answered a lot of the questions you're asking.
1) Yes, you can plug your headphones directly in to the microphone so you can listen to anything that's being output by your computer in conjunction with being able to hear what you're saying too.
2) Mumble is so customizable that I can't imagine it working anything short of perfect to be honest.
3) Again, software supplied/your audio codec will allow you to change the sensitivity of the mic. I believe there are different modes which change the direction in which sound is picked up too.
4) Anything made by Sennheiser is fantastic in my experience.

5) Unless you're doing professional commentaries or streaming etc, I would opt for a headset. Otherwise it's overkill for just talking to your friends (my opinion)

If I could recommend a headset, I would recommend the Sennheiser PC350. It's a brilliant, sturdy, comfortable headset that feels of the highest quality and does everything I need it to do. There are many others out there also (I came from a SteelSeries Siberia V2), but this is the best i've owned.

In that case I guess it's pretty perfect. It's just down to you on whether you want that kind of quality and if you want to spend that much money. I don't think there's really much else I can input.
