I am using a Levono laptop (Windows 8)

My problem is this: My laptop says it is connected to the Wi-Fi network, but I am not able to access the internet via web browser. I have asked a member of my household if their internet is working and it is, just not mine.

I tried troubleshooting problems but none were found. So i checked my networks and noticed something odd. I see a mobile phone there, as soon as it disappears, my internet is back up again. Is this an intruder? I am a bit concerned about this as I do not have a mobile phone connected as a network. I don't even use a mobile phone to connect to the internet. The mobile phone changes each time. At the moment the properties say:

C1905_1274-5523
Manufacturer: Sony
Model: C1905
Model number: C1905
Mac address: 1c:7b:21:e2:f3:26

There are other subjects but they all say unavailable next to them.

I do not understand what this is and there is no option to remove it as a network. Could this possibly be a Trojan virus or am I jumping to conclusions.

I really hope someone can help or knows what this is and how to solve it.

Worried Wingnut here!

It is not there now, but when my internet goes down and I go to settings and available networks, the phone is there but the name of it changes. The last time before I got this one it said Hawuie or something like that.

I just checked devices and printers and the phone is not there. Next time the internet goes down I will check again to see if it is!

Ok what I am wondering if happened is if maybee by accident you attempted to connect to the phone hotspot and windows put that has a higher prioriety connection. Thus when the connection comes online windows automatically switches to that network from the one you are wanting to be on.

My mum does use a phone for the internet but she said it does not go through our broadband, its on a different network. My mobile is not set up for the internet at all. So I know its not that. Is there a way I can change the priority settings for the network or have a look to see what they are set to?
