I replaced a motherboard on my Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5983.
The old board featured shader model 2.0 and ran games that used it just fine.
With this new board, the same game will not run and it says that the video card is missing shader model 2.0.
I got the correct part # to replace the board: it is V000185540
Is this typical? I would like to know that I have done everything correct before I try and get the company to send me the true replacement board with the correct hardware. Really wish this had not turned into such a mess.
Did they sell me a bogus board with cheaper, older parts on it? That's what it seems like to me.
