New build, old OS from a Dell on HD can I use with??? Ta

Hi Y'all,

Noob question here, just wanna know if can save some pennys by useing the old hd from my dell 570 with all the OS/ files etc on it?
Next month I'm gonna get an ssd drive to put all the programs on to, so for time being would this work?
Have win7.

Highly doubtful.

1. It probably won't boot. Hardware is too different.

2. If that OS was preinstalled, the license is tied to that original motherboard.

You can use it but i would not recommend trying to boot from it i would format it and install new windows on it if you have some important information there save on some other media.
