I will be running word, 1080p video, maybe blue-ray later on and I want it to run smooth with multiple windows open as well as streaming Netflix on a 42 inch without lag. Parts list:

WD Green 500 GB Desktop Hard Drive, Sata 6 Gb/s, 64MB Cache,

ADATA XPG V1.0 Destktop Memory - DDR3 1600, 4GB, Blue

Masscool 80mm Ball Bearing Black Case Fan

Ultra XBlaster Mid-Tower V2 Case

Intel® Core™ i3-4130 Dual Core Processor

Asus Z87-K Motherboard

That will all work together and fits your needs (assuming you're not interested in gaming, in which case add a graphics card). For watching movies and multiple windows etc, the onboard video with that i3 is fine.

Couple of things:
1) you don't list a power supply. Something like the the corsair CX430 would do the trick (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026). If you're buying from newegg, it's only $20 after MIR right now which is stupidly cheap too.
2) 4GB RAM is a good fit for your needs, but make sure you get 2x2GB sticks, not a single 4GB. That chipset supports dual channel, which will give you effectively twice the memory bandwidth if you have 2 sticks of ram.
3) I don't think you need a chassis...

3) I don't think you need a chassis fan as that entire build is going to use less than 80-100W at full load. If you add a GPU later, maybe you could think about a fan then.
4) That Motherboard is overkill (Z87 is more expensive as it supports overclocking, but your CPU doesn't). Something like a B85 MB would be significantly cheaper (something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026). It'll run just as fast. A B85 board does only give you 1 PCIex16 slot, (usually used for Graphics cards), but unless you see yourself running multiple graphics cards or other high-bandwidth cards in the future, it won't make any difference other than the $$ saved.
4) Green Drives are pretty slow. It doesn't really matter, but stepping up to a WD Blue or similar would have things like booting and installing updates taking less time. It's a small price step worth considering.
5) You don't list a CD/DVD Drive. That's fine as long as you're happy without one and know how to install Windows from a USB.

Otherwise, looks good.
