So me and my friends went to the pawn shop to buy guitars, and I saw this somewhat old custom built computer for $70. They wouldn't let me open it but the stickers say it has a Core 2 extreme, and the small sticker I was able to see through the side window said that the graphics card was an HD 489A (hd 4890 maybe?). I also saw two sticks of Corsair Dominator platinum (don't know how many gb), and two 500gb Scorpio blue hard drives, and has vista. I asked how long they had it and they said they just got it earlier this month, so someone was upgrading.
When I asked to see if it worked, we couldn't get it to start so I think it needs a new psu, but im wondering if its a somewhat decent gaming rig to run on a 1366X786 monitor for a secondary rig at my fathers house so I don't have to lug my current computer around (i3 3220, gtx 650 ti boost, 4gb ram) or could I buy another 4890 and crossfire them for better performance? I'm not expecting to play games like battlefield and crysis at full resolution maxed out, im reasonable; but what performance can i expect with the single card and an xfire 4890s
Also I trust this pawn shop, Ive been frequenting them for a few years now and when something didn't work or broke in the past they have always been fair and refunded me.
