I want to purchase some computers from my company which is going out of business. I noticed that they have a windows 7 sticker on the side, but they are loaded with XP. I am being told the computers need to be re-imaged, will that take them back to 7?
Also the product key stickers have been removed from computers, what about that?

When the computers get re-imaged would they just go back to 7? Wouldn't there be a partition?

It can't find the Windows 7 key. That has been long overwritten. It does not exist on those systems anymore.

Also, whatever license key for Windows 7 may have been on there may have been part of a Volume License agreement. Which you do not have.

there are windows 7 logo stickers on the side. The key stickers have been removed. The computers are in a call center and were loaded with XP several years to meet the program requirements for the center. The key tags were removed for security measures. No one seems to want to tell me more than that, but I am able to purchase them.
honestly nothing was ever saved to the hard drive except our internet surfing, everything is on a main frame.

Then you need to obtain new OS's for them. Either buy Win 7, or Linux.

Just because the business sold the hardware to you does not automatically transfer a Windows 7 license.
