Before replacing the drive I want to check and see if there are other things to check first. I have an XPS 14 Ultrabook. The 500GB drive was replaced with a Samsung 840 Pro SSD. Windows was installed to that drive but it kept crashing and getting I/O errors for applications. It would also crash when installing some apps. Flash would crash when running on ESPN. Other random errors. Doing a drive check through windows sometimes produced errors and sometimes didn't. I tried wiping the drive clean and initially got errors saying the drive couldn't be formatted when doing a fresh windows install. Eventually it formatted but windows gets errors while installing and it quits.
I installed windows on the the smaller 32GB drive and everything is working perfect. Before I replace the SSD, are there other things I should check? Maybe the SATA cable or something else?
