My Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO came in today and I got it in there. It idles at 40-45. When I run or play League of Legends. It jumps to high 67-70. Should I redo my thermal paste/etc? Or is that normal?

Solution
@Hmonghtt, I got A10-7850K in my rig with the 212 Evo and it runs at 30 ish idling. I used the thermal paste that came with the cooler, so I'm pretty sure there was installation errors.
I would just try again since the thermal paste that came with the cooler can be used for at least 5 times (I've used 4 times already). Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, and once again, check the BIOS for the most accurate reading.

Hmm, with that case and that cooler you should be getting better temps. I would definitely remount, make sure you clean all of the old paste off of both the cooler and the cpu and don't add too much thermal paste, the amount should be equal to a grain of rice or small pea. Also make sure the fans are oriented correctly if you are configured for push/pull.

Also, are you running stock clocks or have you overclocked the cpu. What are ambient temperatures like?

You can't compare temperatures if you know your temp sensor is broken and 70c . According to AMD specs Maximum operating temperature = 74°C so no, cpu temps of 70c is not a favorable outcome.

The manufactorer rated max temp for that CPU is 72C, when you hear about Intel CPUs running 80C or higher it is because they have different temperature ratings Intel max temp != AMD max temps. AMD CPUs should throttle and reduce performance when they start getting too hot.

I ran a phenom x4 for 3 years on around 80 C. The site says 64C.
Still working like new.
Dw, transistors arent designed to die in a day.
They dont have moving parts that can easily fail
