I am using a Dell laptop Inspirion 1525 home premium edition. There were no problems until a few days ago when I started it up at noon -- it had worked fine at 6 AM. At noon it went through the splash screen to a black and gray display with the words Microsoft Windows Vista at the top and tool: Windows memory diagnostics at the bottom. I ran the diagnostic and it said "no errors" . I ran a virus and malware scan -- no viruses and I removed 58 malware items. The problem persisted. I ran the diagnostics available in the control panel and the F12 key. Each time there were no errors. Finally, I discovered that if I pressed the enter key the computer would start and run normally after a sequence of many beeps. However I still cannot get it to boot normally. Do I have a virus? Does anyone have any idea what is going on?.
