Hey guys, so I have heard that this card supposedly has a lot of artifacting and the minority of the owners of this card say that this card functions properly. I want to know if this card is worth buying. I know that the 770 is an option but I am a fan of the R9 series and support AMD. I plan on purchasing this card or a different one around black friday of this year. Any suggestions and answers about the Asus r9 280x?

Good card, I picked up one at the release and had no problems, (then was made an offer I couldn't refuse after the prices jumped by about 50%) while it's a great card, to me right now (at the Egg) at $390 it's overpriced (when they climbed to $459 - really, really overpriced, if they get back to $320 or less then that's competitive...otherwise I'd be looking at nVidia, prices should drop on current models when the new ones are released

Unless you find one cheaper than a 770 don't bother as in most games the 770 wins. I have a 280x, but I got it when it was $30 cheaper than any 770. I don't have any major artifacting issues, just occasionally on BF4, but that has to do with the game and servers, not the card. Otherwise I'm fairly happy but I always look to nvidia first.

Has that ever happened before on any other games? Also, by black friday of this year the prices should be low enough to be satisfied with.

No, but the majority of my gaming has been on BF4 with it happening a handful of times. I've also played a little diablo 3, loadout and heartstone without a single issue.

I know what woltej1 means... it´s not artifacting, it´s polygon flickering and it happens ocassionally when you´re flying on a chopper looking at ground from distance! It happens to me as well, but as woltej said, it´s due to the game. Anyway, in other games it just doesn´t happen (tomb raider, splinter cell, thief, GTR, Simcity...)
