Info above identical from both SIW & CPU-Z

I have a number of these units and will be upgrading them to sell.

I recently upgraded one CPU from the stock Athlon x2 to a 1st gen Phenom X4 9750 95W. It works great, but it was supposed to according to the info available from Dell.

I now am wondering if a Phenom II X4 95W would be compatible, but can not find definitive info anywhere on the Internet. It's probably there but I can't understand it. As far as I can tell the socket and power would be fine but other mobo restrictions may exist.

If more specific info is needed, please let me know and I'll provide it.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Please read the info in the first post before replying.

1) I'm already way past what that topic at the Dell forum is about. The info above clearly states I'm now running a Phenom X4 95w CPU. The topic is about trying to get an Athlon X2 89w to work; a lessor, older CPU than a Phenom.

2) All the Optiplex 740 SFF have a 275w PSU (see the Dell website for details). I'm already running a 95w CPU and a XFX R7 240A GPU that uses ~122w under load; the system works perfect and operating temperatures of the CPU, GPU and hard drive are all well lower than specified maximums. Power would not be a problem using a CPU with the exact same power rating; the Phenom II X4 I would use is the same 95w as the Phenom X4 I have now.

I have no interest in gaming and I know the limitations of what I'm trying to do. My use is for MS Office, Internet browsing, email, streaming video, and HTPC.
