My friend got an HP Pavioin H8-1214 and an evga 750ti. However, the gpu doesn't work, as it freezes when you try to get past the HP screen. Cannot get to bios or anything. Also, there is no option to switch to legacy boot in his bios (put his old gpu back in to see.) There is an option for it, but nothing happens when I click enter on it. So I am at a loss. Also, its win7 home premium, and I upgraded the PSU. Any help is appreciated.

Ok in case anyone else ever has this problem, I ended up installing a different motherboard. The GPU was not compatible with the motherboard in the HP machine due to UEFI setting, which you are unable the change in the BIOS. Once I installed the motherboard, I had to then reinstall windows 7 from a disk because of all the HP drivers that were on the HDD. Otherwise, it had a blue screen even in safe mode. In order to boot from disk, go into the new motherboards BIOS, and set the CD/DVD drive to boot first. What a headache! Thanks to all who tried to help.

That would be a non issue 750 ti can run only from the pci slot power infact i could run my gtx 670 with both power plugs disconnected issues would arise once you do something like try to run a game.
