I have a 970a g46 mobo, and want to OC my fx-6300 because i have a 2-way r9 270x xfire and don't want to avoid bottlenecking as musch as possible. My goal is to get up to atleast 3.9ghz. The thing is: im a completely experienced OC'er. Is it possible you could give me the jist of it/basic tips n tricks?

thank you

Have you used MSI's OC Genie II that is made for your MB? Those utilities will test and OC your CPU in increments, usually a conservative "performance" OC and then a more advanced "extreme" OC. The nice thing about the software is that it shows you all the parameters. If you study the stock settings first and them note the increment of change from the lower to higher OC, you can then make further small incremental increases of the same settings, Vcore, Multiplier, FSB, etc. The software can effectively teach you how to OC. Software engineers from MSI are inevitably smarter than most of us, so you can probably trust their methodology! Just watch temps and be aware of the fact that you may need to upgrade your cooling solution to...
