Quick question about Builds

I currently have a Corsair CX500 80+ certified and I was wondering if this PSU would be good for a mid level gaming rig or is it pretty much just limited to entry level gaming rigs? reson I ask is cause I hope to upgrade soon and build a better gaming rig and I figure the less parts I have to replace the more money I have to go to other things such as RAM or a better GPU or CPU

that is a mediocre power supply but depending on the components you select, it may do an okay job.

I wasn't gonna do much just upgrade to the Athlon X4 750k with 8gb DDR3 1600mhz RAM and a HD 7750 GPU
the reason I figure i'd stay with AMD is cause I already have a fm2/fm2+ motherboard so that saves me a little bit of money

The CX500 is a solid midrange psu. I don't understand how it gets such a bad rap. It's not claiming to be 80+ platinum or anything.

the CX series are good at first, but in about 2 years time if you start having weird issues suspect the psu. (due to using cheap short lived capacitors )

I agree, I never said it was horrible, or that people should avoid it, it just isn't top tier or even really good, it is just an okay PSU.
