I was wondering if anyone has tried using Nvidia 3D Vision 2 with a single GTX 770. I have a XL2420TE and a MSI GTX 770 Lightning just in case someone was wondering. I wanted to know if anyone has tried 3D gaming with single 770 and if it was any good.

3D doesn't seem to care what card you use after a point. I had a 670 (only a tad slower than a 770) and it worked great for 3D, but you'll find alot of games have issues and simply have bad CPU/GPU utilization and so bad framerates, even if they work just fine in 2D. Moved to a 780 and it made zero difference in 3D.

Honestly I wouldn't recommend buying into 3D anymore, its pretty much a dead technology. It's fantastic when it works, but for it to work you have to rely on community fixes, something that aren't being made anymore due to the incapability to fix DX11 games. Made worse is the fact that Nvidia (in response to the majority of modern games not working with 3D) is now putting out drivers that use fake depth buffer 3D, so all...

I recently picked up a 770, upgraded from a 560 ti. I tried 3D for once and it just made me extremely dizzy. I guess 3D isn't for me.
Everything seemed very smooth though, if that's what you were wondering.

3D isn't really dead however, it's in a process of "innovation". From now on, VR headsets like Oculus Rift will be using 3D, coming out by the end of this year, so yes, if you want 3D, u are free to invest... I would recommend you take a 2-way SLI cards. Palmer was saying on a conference that you will need to achieve minimum of 60FPS on 3D, so watch out! You might find it challenging!

However, with Oculus Rift, Nvidia, want or not, will have to start working on their 3D vision since Oculus is gonna be this year for gamers! I know they got under Facebook, but for me - I just wanna play VR games and that's it. Facebook will probably put ads as "in-game" graphics/items of some sort as I heard, that's not as bad as having ads stacked all over around the screen at your face, which is horrible...

So yup, if you've got the funds, just go get it. Also DX12 is coming next year and it seems performance will be highly increased, and I hope 3D too...it's NOT dead!

I personally use 3D Vision. I have found I get good results with 680 SLI. It does appear that if there is one place SLI excels, it is with 3D Vision. Each eye's image is rendered by 1 card. I notice a vary big difference in performance. I see a very large improvement going from 1 680 to 2. There are some games which will have issues still, but many of them can be fixed here: http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/07/game-list-full.html

I also happen to play very few games with that pop up look. I believe only Crysis 2, of the games I own do that. I assume Crysis 3, and I've heard BF3 and BF 4 do this. Other than those two series, they all do true stereoscopic 3D from what I've seen.

The Dizziness problem sounds like you simply did not set the convergence, which unfortunately requires you to go into the nvidia control panel->Stereoscopic 3D->keyboard shortcut, and turn on the settings before you can even adjust it. Every game requires different convergent settings, and make sure to save them after they are set.
