I'm needing to overclock my i5-4670k and was attempting to overclock in BIOS when i came across,
"load optimized cpu oc settings" How 'optimized' are these? If i use these auto-overclock settings will my cpu randomly explode because the settings used too much voltage? Has someone with an ASRock board ever used these auto-overclocks with successful results? Negative results?

Someone WITH a ASRock board, please help me out here. Thanks

That board is pretty good and should yield you some decent results. As far as the 'Load optimal OC Settings", I am fairly certain that is the auto-overclock your bios features. Like many of today's motherboards, it allows you to overclock "the easy way". Think of it as 1-click-overclocking. It's a decent way to get some extra performance out of your CPU and it's completely safe to use this feature.

The old school way (and still the best way, although slightly more risky if you don't know what your doing) is to manually adjust your CPU settings for an overclock. But if your not familiar or comfortable with doing this way, just do it the easy way. Your mobo probably came with software for Windows that will do this for you easily as well. If not, there's probably a software suite for it on the AsRock website.

Well i multitask a lot of programs that use a lot/max cpu power at times. If i use the auto overclock "load optimal oc settings" I don't want it killing my cpu. When using this feature does it set a max voltage level or will it just keep increasing voltage and potentially risk damaging my cpu.

If anyone who has a ASRock board, and has used this feature, feel free to say anything.

It's completely safe. It's setup by default to be safe. Now, that does not mean that this particular overclock it gives you is going to benefit you as much as your thinking. It might technically OC your CPU, but it might not be enough to actually give very much of a performance boost.

And your board being an ASRock means little. Nearly all the main motherboard manufacturers offer this kind of feature. It's nothing new. You need to learn how to manually overclock your i5 4670K. That is the main thing.

Just do a Google search for overclocking i5 4670K's. Should bring up plenty of info on how to do that. Or maybe someone around here with the same CPU can chime in on the best way to get it done. Manually overclocking is really the best way to get every ounce of performance from your CPU, to be honest. The easy way works, but it's not always effective in terms of adding the kind of boost you really want from an OC.

You're not answering his main question, you're just adding useless information. He is asking why to choose the loaded optimal OC settings or if it is safer to manually OC.
I would also like to see an answer to this question.

You obviously a forum troll. K.

Gotcha.

BTW, since you seem to think I am giving him false info, perhaps you have something to share on the topic? You certainly seem to think I am giving out 'useless information'. Let's see the limits of your knowledge, sir.

The suspense is killing me...
