I'm having issues with my wifi on my ACER 5552G (Windows 7, drivers up to date).

Problem: laptop connects only to max strength wifi signals, does not depend on the network, because I tested it several times. If I connect to the network and move away from the router it works just fine for a time, but if I go too far (the signal drops to 2-3 bars) then it just disconnects after 3-4 minutes. I already checked for the latest drivers and everything seems to be up to date.

Question: hardware or software error?

Thank you for the fast answer! :)
What I forgot to mention was that my laptop had been repaired in a shop because of some earlier reasons. When I got it back it was like this. Before the incident my wifi adapter worked perfectly.

But it seems what I was afraid of, the hardware issue :(
