I have extremely slow internet connection (0.1 Mbps down) whereas other laptops are getting 2 - 5 Mbps down in the same spot as my desktop. My connection constantly disconnects, puts the yellow ! over the bars in the system tray.

I got a new USB wireless adapter to try to solve it, got fast speed for 10 minutes, then back to regular slow

I have a desktop, Windows 7 64 bit. We are on CenturyLink DSL in Denver, CO USA

InSSIDer shows 60 - 65 dBm connection to the router/modem (actiontec c1000a). I have full "bars" on the system tray wireless icon

In the router GUI, my machine has 11 open connections. Other devices have like 5. I have disabled folder sharing.

I have run Microsoft Security Essentials Scan, Malwarebytes scan. Nothing to report

I have tried resetting the TCP/IP with the NetShell utility. I have tried rebooting the router multiple times.

In the task manager, I see my link speed is 58 (sometimes 130 or 144) Mbps utilizing .05% max, whereas the other laptop with the just-fine connection has a steady 5Mbps connection utilizing 50% The "graph" of my signal (in task manager) looks likethis --> http://imgur.com/yv08h9m

What can I try? Any other information I could provide? This problem seems to be evasive, as many many others have the same situation with no solution.

Thanks for the reply, although I do not understand your response. Would you mind clarifying a little bit?
