Hi guys,

I wanted to ask the community a question before going forward with this CPU upgrade.

My current build is:

AMD A8- 5500 APU
DDR3 8GB RAM
Radeon 7950 HD GPU
500W PSU
AZZA Evo 201 Box

My question is, will I be able to upgrade my CPU to a FX-8350 BE without any issues?

They are different sockets, your APU is socket FM1, and the FX-8350 BE is socket AM3+. So unless you change the motherboard as well, you can't use the new processor.

EDIT: Basically the place in your motherboard where the CPU fits, looks similar to this:

But for the 8350 to work with your system, it needs a motherboard with a socket that looks like this:

Exactly, but shop around a little before making your decision final. Motherboards have a fairly wide price range depending on available features, such as ones that have Crossfire/SLI support are more expensive than those without it and so on.
