MinGW not working after installation

i have installed MinGW and have followed every step to make sure it works , even the one where i have to add a variable into the Path variable . after that i checked whether the compiler is whether working or not by going to the command prompt and typing gcc -v but it keeps showing that gcc is not recognized . can someone help me with this

did you reboot after changing the path variable?

yes i did , but to no success

go back to the settings, use that path on a explorer windows and make sure the gcc exe is there.

thanks , i figured that i had to tick and download the packages it offers which one of them is gcc and so i did . it worked in the end . +1 to rgd1101
